Date-Pecan Cereal Squares

Ingredients

  • 5 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter
  • dash of salt
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 4 cups crispy corn puff cereal

Directions

  1. Place marshmallows, margarine, and salt in a 3-quart casserole.
  2. Cover and microwave on high until the marshmallows melt, 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes.
  3. Stir in dates and pecans, fold in cereal until coated, and press into a greased 13-by-9-by-2-inch pan.
  4. Let stand at room temperature about 1 hour; cut into approximately 2-inch squares.

MICROWAVE DATE-PECAN CEREAL SQUARES
5 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
1/4 cup margarine or butter
dash of salt
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
4 cups crispy corn puff cereal
Place marshmallows, margarine, salt in 3 quart casserole.
Cover and microwave on high until marshmallows are melted, 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes.
Stir in dates and pecans, fold in cereal until well coated, press mixture into greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan.
Let stand at room temperature about 1 hour. Cut into about 2 inch squares.
